It is with deep sympathy, that we announce the passing of Lillie H. Washington of Attalla, AL, who transitioned on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the age of 91.  We ask that you keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Ms. Lillie Hazel Washington was born on November 20, 1932, in Dekalb County, Alabama to the late Walter Wallace, Jr. and Ida Mae Powell, but she was raised by her grandparents, Ella Wallace and Walter Wallace, Sr.   She was the third sibling of four.

She confessed Christ at an early age and was educated in the Macon Mississippi school system.

Lillie was united in Holy Matrimony on May 10, 1952, to John Washington, Sr., and to this union, eight children were born.

After moving to Attalla, Alabama, Lillie united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church also in Attalla.  While a member of Mt. Zion she supervised the Youth Usher Board, sang in the choir, served on the Usher Board, and was a faithful member until her health prevented her from attending.
