With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Mrs. Loretta Crews of Gadsden, who traded time for eternity on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at the age of 63. We ask that you keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during the difficult time. Services will be Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Abundant Life Church.
Mrs. Loretta Moore Crews was born October 8, 1958, to the union of Curtis and Jeanette Cooper Moore in Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama.
She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Gadsden No. 1 A.O.H. Church of God under the leadership of Bishop Willie C. Sanders. After a brief encounter with the love of her life Gregory Crews Sr., she joined him in marriage, and they united with the Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jolly Turner. Later, after desiring to serve in ministry with her family, she united with the Friendship Baptist Church in Attalla under the leadership of her son- in- law, Pastor Tyson R. Burwell.
Loretta received her education through the Gadsden City School System. She loved cooking, decorating and singing, she always said that her greatest accomplishment was her three children and her grandchildren.
On Sunday, February 20, 2022, she departed this earthly life to her new residence in glory. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Janeah Crews; mother, Mrs. Jeanette Moore; her grandmother, Mrs. Hazel Watson; sisters, Mrs. Diane Moore Williams and Mrs. Linda Dupree and In-laws, Clarence and Rosie Crews.
The life and legacy she leaves behind will be cherished by: a loving and devoted husband of 46 years, Mr. Gregory Crews Sr.; her loving and devoted children, Mrs. Meshonda (Tyson) Burwell, Gregory Crews Jr. and Mrs. Chastity (Tracy) Crook; six grandchildren, Cedric Cole, Jasmine Hardnett, Jasmine (Jerrail) Moragne, DeAsia Crocton, Madisyn Burwell and Taleah Crews; 3 great grandchildren, Kaysen Hardnett, Arielle & Arieona Cole; her father, Mr. Curtis Moore; sister, Evie Brewster; five brothers, Mr. Curtis Moore Jr., Mr. Willie Moore, Mr. Michael (Nita) Moore, Mr. Antonio Moore and Mr. Gerald (Lawanda) Moore; Sister in laws Teresa (Roy) Miller and Regina Garrett; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Debra Ransaw and Shirl Coleman; a host of aunts, cousins and friends too numerous to list.
