A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Please join us in mourning the passing of Ms. Lorra Ann Thornton, of Gadsden, AL who traded time for eternity on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the age of 64. We ask that you please keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
Lorra Ann Thornton Was born on August 16, 1960 To the Lessie Mae Thornton and Johnny Thornton.
Lorra Ann accepted Christ at an early age at Fellowship Baptist Church where she sung in the Mass Choir for a few years.
Lorra Ann Graduated from Litchfield High School, and later went to Gadsden State Community College, she worked at Gadsden Regional for 10 years. She also worked for The USDA from 2011-2025.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lessie Thornton; her father, Johnny Thornton; her brother, Fredrick Jones; grandmother, Jessie Jones and grandfather, James Jones.
Ms. Lorra Ann Thornton leaves to cherish her loving memory her two children, Alando (Tamara) Thornton, Jeremy (Charlotte) Thornton both of Gadsden; four grandchildren; Amaya Thornton, Teairra Thornton, Jassiah Thornton, and Gerald Johnson, all of Gadsden; one brother, Bobby Thornton of Albertville; three sisters, Sandra (Kenneth) Kirby, Alethia Sales,both of Gadsdsden, and Jaquelin (Terrance) Gaines of Birmingham; four nieces, Lashonda Thornton, Kiona Thornton, Janice Sales, Candice Burns, all of Gadsden, Kenya Flakes of Georgia; five nephews, Demarcus (Shanae) Thornton, Brandon Sumpter, Jermicheal (Maquita) Sales all of Gadsden, and Charles Jacobs of Oklahoma; seven grand-nieces and nephews, Zariah Thornton, Zion Peoples, Parish Peoples, Nevaeh Peoples, Braxton Thornton, Royce Thornton, Jermila Underwood, and a host of aunties and uncles.
