It iw deep sympathy we announce the passing of Luella Wright of Ft. Payne,AL, who passed on Sunday., May 3, 2026, at the age of 73. We ask that you keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this time of sorrow.
Luella Carter-Wright was born on March 13, 1953, to the late Rev.Thomas and Willie Mae Carter in Collinsville, Alabama.
She was truly a rare gift of life, known for her bright, fun, and youthful personality. She had a way of bringing joy into any room that she entered and made lasting memories with everyone fortunate enough to know her.
At an early age, Luella accepted Christ and later became a devoted member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. JD Cameron. She had a love for bright, colorful clothing and even light-up shoes, always embracing fun and expressing herself in her own unique way.
Luella especially cherished time spent with her family, creating moments filled with true laughter and love that continues to bring smiles to those who knew her today. She had a remarkable sense of humor and a spirit that stayed young no matter the years.
She was also known for her care and skill in everyday things, a simple act that reflected her attention, pride, and love in all she did.
Luella was preceded in death by both of her loving parents.
Among those who will forever cherish her memory, she leaves behind her children, Micheal Darnell Carter and Justin Blackburn; her brothers, Billy Ray Carter and Nathan Carter; her grandchildren, DaQuon (Julie) Adams, Nashauna Adams, Marquavius Carter, Kaleb Woods, Jamicheal Smith, Alysha Stradford and Tailyne Blackburn; her sisters, Helen Carter, Mattie (Tony) Smith, and Gail (Jimmy) Ammons, along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and special friends, Dolphus Wright, Sandra San Juan, Alma Bynum, and Ms.Bobbie who will deeply miss her presence.
Her life will now remain a constant reminder to find joy in the little things, to laugh often, and to hold close the people who matter most.
