Mary Helen (Dobbins) Kennon

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be remembered.  Please join us in mourning the passing of Mrs. Mary Helen Kennon, of Decatur, GA who traded time for eternity on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the age of 78.  Please keep her family and friends in your prayer during this time.

A native of Decatur, Alabama, Mary D. Kennon was born on May 20, 1946 to the late Noah Dobbins, Sr., and Mamie Cohen Dobbins.

Mary graduated from Lakeside High School in 1964. She started Atlanta School of Business in 1966, majoring in Business Administration. She graduated in 1968.

Mary wed Donald Kennon on July 3, 1971 and moved to Rome, GA a year later. Here is where Donald and Mary spent the next 13 years raising their daughters, Donica and Alison. In 1984, the family moved to Metro Atlanta.

Mary retired from Cingular Wireless in 2006.

Surrounded by her family, Mary passed on December 18, 2024 in Decatur, GA. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald; her parents; 2 sisters; one brother and one grandson, Kyle Kennon.

Mary leaves those to cherish her memory, two beautiful loving daughters, Donica and Alison Kennon; the most handsome grandson in the world, Alec Kennon; brother, Charles (Brenda) Dobbins; sister, Myria Dobbins and several amazing and loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
