It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Mr. Michael Hardy of Gadsden, AL, who transitioned on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the age of 66. We ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Services will be announced.
Michael Eugene Hardy’s life began in Gadsden, Alabama on December 3, 1955. He was born to the parentage of Elder Gilbert L. and Jessie M. Hardy. Michael, or Mike as he was affectionally known, gave his life to Christ at an early age and worshiped at St. John FBH Church of God of the Americas. He loved playing the drums at church and singing for the Lord.
Mike attended Gadsden High School and upon graduating in 1974, he joined the United States Army to serve our country. Mike resided in Atlanta, Georgia until he answered the Master’s call Saturday morning.
Mike leaves to cherish his memories three children; Marquis Richardson and Trent (Patrice) Wilson of Gadsden, and Tiffany (West) Walker of Wedowee; his devoted father, Elder Gilbert L. Hardy, Sr. of Gadsden; five brothers, Gilbert L. Hardy, Jr., Cedric Hardy (Shelia) and Trent all of Gadsden, Gerald (Jayda) of North Carolina, and Gerard (Kymberly) of Manchester, TN, and four sisters, Ivy (Larry) Powe of Atlanta, GA, Kerri Cammack of Birmingham, Romae (Blake) Thompson of Gadsden, Patrice (Rory) Calhoun of Birmingham, and (sister’s/niece’s) Alexia (Antonio) Gibson and Juanita Hardy. He also leaves 12 grandchildren; Eboni, Trinity, Christiana, Jaiden, Kyla, Zamonie, and Jorvunta Wilson all of Gadsden; Marcus, Rena, and Evan Swain of Huntsville; and Chase and Aden Wilson of Wedowee; three aunts, Mrs. Bessie Ray Calloway and Mrs. Louise Hughes of Gadsden and Mrs. Amanda Baxter of Atlanta, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a close personal friend, Ms. Annie Sharpe of Atlanta, GA.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Mae Hardy, and his eldest brother, L.T. Hardy.
