It is with deep sympathy we announce the passing of Mona Richey of Collinsville, AL, who transitioned on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the age of 59. We ask that you keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Miss Mona Denise Richey was born on July 20, 1963, to Marshall and Mary McMath Richey in DeKalb County, Alabama.
Mona went to Collinsville High School and graduated in 1981. She was a member of the band. After high school she attended Jacksonville State College. She was a skilled seamstress and could make almost anything.
Mona joined Collins Chapel Methodist Church at an early age. She loved the Lord and would chastise you for doing wrong, throughout her illness, she never waivered on her faith. She had a strong work ethic until her health failed.
Mona left her earthly body on October 18, 2022, at Crossville Nursing Home in Crossville, Alabama
She leaves to cherish her love and memories her parents, Minister Marshall and Mary Richey, three brothers, Donald, Timothy, and Neil Richey; chosen niece, Jasmine Washington; chosen nephew, Rickey Robinson; two uncles, Bennie Bynum, favorite uncle, Claude Richey; three aunts, Agnes Richey, favorite aunts, Rachel Richey and Gloria Underwood; her best friends, Denise Ford and Natalie Small and a host of cousins and friends.
