God held out His hand and welcomed Nallie Lovell Wyatt into Heaven on December 13, 2023. She was born to the late Velma Irene (Glover) and Hurshel Leroy Foster on September 17, 1928, in Etowah County. Nallie spent her early childhood in the Pollard’s Bend area and was baptized at the Providence Baptist Church. Throughout her life, she worshiped in the Christian faith and served her community as a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church of Gadsden, Alabama (Etowah County), and later in life as a member of the United Christian Church in Gadsden, Alabama.
Nallie cared deeply for her family and friends. She helped others whenever and wherever she could. She knew that was her true calling in life. She nurtured her family to provide them with positive encouragement to succeed. In 1998, she and her husband moved to Birmingham, Alabama, to be near their children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and celebrate special occasions and holidays with family. She was known in her family circle for candied sweet potatoes and cornbread dressing. She worked for the Centre Manufacturing Company in Centre, Alabama, from 1965 until she retired in 1993. After retirement, she continued her passion for vegetable gardening and maintaining a beautiful flower garden.
Nallie was predeceased by her five brothers, Porter Foster, John Foster, Billy Foster, Paul Foster, and Memphis Foster. She was also predeceased by her loving husband, John William (J.W.) Wyatt and her son, Johnnie Wyatt. Nallie is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Foster of Leesburg, Alabama, and Jeanette Jelks of Gardena, California. She is also survived by her four children: Carol Washington, Larry Wyatt, Lonell (Jacqueline) Wyatt - all of Birmingham, Alabama; Stephanie (Edward) Jones II of Roanoke, Virginia; and daughter-in-law, Bennetta Wyatt of Birmingham, Alabama.
