With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Ora Lee "Leevie" Appleby Caldwell of Lineville, who went from labor to reward on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at the age of 94.
Mrs. Ora "Leevie" Caldwell was born January 14, 1942, to Bessie Mae Appleby in Lineville, Clay County, Alabama.
She was educated in the Clay County School System graduating from Clay County Training School Class of 1960.
She confessed Christ at a young age at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church and served in past roles including president of the Junior Missionary Society, the Matrons, Youth director and Choir member. She served her whole life in the church.
She united in the bonds of holy matrimony to the late Rev. Charles R. Caldwell on September 27, 1962. Three sons were born to this union. She continued serving the Lord alongside her husband as 1st Lady of Macedonia Baptist Church, Heflin and Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Lafayette, Alabama.
She enjoyed cooking Thanksgiving dinner for her family, and they loved her banana pudding.
She was preceded in death by her husband; mother; siblings, Anita Hearn, Mildred Hearn, and Oscar Appleby.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Anthony (Lisa) Caldwell, Lineville, Timothy (Sharon) Caldwell, Anniston, Wayne (Sharon) Caldwell, Oxford; six grandchildren, Marcus, Carlos, Weston (Shania), Christian (MiKayla), Shelby and Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Chelsea, and Amari Rose; sisters, Patricia Wilson, Lineville, and Beverly (Stacey) Hill, Lineville; brothers, Joseph (Angela) Appleby, Lineville, Ronald (Shirley) Appleby, Lineville, Rodney (Victoria) Appleby, St Mary's, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews and other dear friends.
