Patricia Williams Obituary

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.  Please join us in mourning the passing of Mrs. Patricia Ann Miller Williams, of Gadsden, AL who traded time for eternity on Friday, April 19, 2024, at the age of 77.  Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Patricia Ann Miller Williams was born on November 11, 1946 alongside her twin sister Patty Ann Miller to
the late Earnest Miller, Sr. and Channie Miller in Gadsden, Alabama.
She graduated from Carver High School in 1966. She immediately went to work for a short term at both
ID Precision and General Times. Later she started working at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in 1975
where she would retire after 30 years of service in 2005.
Patricia was shy by nature and when a young man by the name of Ernest Williams called her by name,
she was unsure of how he knew her. She was unaware that Ernest had inquired about her through her
sister Frankie. Soon after that inquiry, the love story began and they were united in marriage on April 9,
1976.
In the late 70s, she undertook a serious study of the Bible with her nephew Eugene Ragland who was
one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She thoroughly enjoyed what she learned and dedicated her life to Jehovah
God and symbolized it by water baptism on July 5, 1980. Going forward she would share truths that she
deeply loved from the Bible with friends, family and neighbors. Although shy, she became animated when
talking about the Bible.
Patricia was a very classy dresser. It was not unusual to see her dressed with a beautiful scarf and
brooch. She enjoyed cooking, line dancing and working in the yard with the love of her life, Ernest. She
and Ernest had such an eye for beauty in landscaping their yard, as a result, they received the
Beautification Award from the City of Gadsden. She loved her family dearly and therefore, took the lead in
organizing the Miller – Campbell – Griffin family reunions. Spending time with her family brought her much
joy, especially the time she spent with her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Ernest Williams,
whom she affectionately called “Booby”.
Patricia passed away in death after an extended illness on Friday, April 19, 2024. She was preceded in
death by her parents, Earnest and Channie Miller; siblings, Patty Miller, Jimmy Miller, Roy Miller,
Ernestine (Ernest) Ragland, Fred (Annie) Miller, Ernest (Edna) Miller, Ray (Nettie) Miller, Keith (Fannie)
Miller and Mary F. Harville.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Ernest Williams; brother-in-law, Leon Harville; a
host of nieces, nephews and friends.
We would like to extend a special thanks to Vicky McGinnis and Regina Wright.
