With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Reginald L. Powell, Jr., of Gadsden, who traded time for eternity on Thursday, June 5, 2024, at the age of 35. We ask that you keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
Mr. Reginald “Debo” Lee Powell, Jr., was born on November 18, 1988, in Gadsden, AL to his loving parents, Cathy Maxwell-Thomas and Reginald Lee Powell, Sr.
He was baptized in Jesus name at an early age in Gadsden, AL.
Debo was one of a kind and somebody to know. He was known for riding ATV’s, cracking jokes, hanging with his “crew” in Oakleigh Estates, and his “Big” head which was bigger than his body. The love he had for his children and family was priceless. Debo will be remembered by his personality and sense of humor.
He gained his wings on June 5, 2024. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Irene Maxwell, and Annie Ruth Powell; grandfather, Joe Hill; aunts, Sallie Densmore, Barbara McMurray, and Carolyn Maxwell; uncles, George Maxwell, Joseph Maxwell, and Billy Moore, and special nephew, Xzavier Ruffin.
He leaves to cherish his memory to his loving parents, Cathy Maxwell-Thomas and Reginald (Alethia) Powell, Sr.; children, Regineah Powell, Zytavious Powell, Jeremiah Williams, and Micayla Fikes; siblings, Kristopher Maxwell, Michael Maxwell, Regina Powell, and Kathy Maxwell; step-sisters, Carlisa Thomas, Alexandia Forman and Aisha Forman-Chavous; nieces and nephews, Jatorrious, Jaleigh, Taleigh, Za’miya, Kayla, Phoenix, Alysha, Deangelo, and Gabriel; special aunt, Larcena (Sherry Lee) Carlisle; special niece, Zycara Maxwell; special friends, India Scissum, Oakleigh Estates Family and host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
