It is with deep sympathy, we announce the passing of Robert Higgins of Gadsden, AL, who transitioned on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the age of 74. We ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

A TIME TO BE BORN…
Robert Higgins was born in Gadsden, AL on November 22, 1949, to the late Mr. Henry Higgins and the late Mrs. Luella Higgins.
A TIME TO PLANT…
He confessed hope in Christ and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Carver High School. Robert joined the Army and faithfully served his country in the Engineering Battalion, Infantry Training, and Jump School. He served honorably in Vietnam where he was wounded and received a Bronze Star for Bravery in the jungle. After serving in Vietnam, he finished his military duties in Germany. He later worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company and McPherson Oil. Robert had an unwavering love for his family and a special place in his heart for his special pal, “Big Boy.” Jaetaevious was Robert’s “Big Boy” and Robert was his “Paw Paw.” This was a special connection that couldn’t be broken.
A TIME TO DIE…
He finished his course on earth and went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2024, at the VA Hospital, in Birmingham, AL. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mr. Henry and Luella Higgins; sisters, Sadie and Lillie Nell Higgins, Olla Bell Foster, Catherine Turner, Patricia Brooks; Doris Porter; brothers, Jeffrey, James, and Othell Higgins.
A TIME TO LOVE…
He shared an everlasting love for his family.
A TIME TO CRY…
He leaves to celebrate and cherish his memories a loving and devoted family wife, Jacqueline Fisher Higgins; Gadsden, AL, two brothers, Henry (Everneza) Higgins, Gadsden, AL, and James (Clarissa) Higgins, Huntsville, AL; two sisters, Annie Ruth Hughes, Detroit, MI, Barbara (Floyd) Erkins, Gadsden, AL; special step-granddaughter Arielle Johnson; special step-great-grandson Jaetaenious “Big Boy” Johnson and other special step-children, family and friends.
TIME OF PEACE…
Robert Higgins is now at peace, resting his faith in the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.
