Robert Lee Jenkins

With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Robert Lee Jenkins of Gadsden, who traded time for eternity on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at the age of 75.

Mr. Robert Lee Jenkins was born on May 29, 1950, to the late Richard and Elizabeth Jenkins.
At an early age, Robert accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and he united with First Missionary Baptist Church of Alabama City under the leadership of Reverend E. L. Gary.
Mr. Jenkins attended O.B. Burton City School. He was the head  cook at Sombrero Restaurant, he worked for Buchanan Construction for several years, Tyson Foods and the Gadsden Times delivering newspapers.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; grandfather, Herman Williams; grandmother, Mary Burkes; son Robert Lavon Jenkins; daughter, Zera Lawrence; brothers, Carl Williams, Alfonza Jenkins; nephew, Carl Williams, Jr.; niece, Tammy Williams; nephew, Kobe Thomas and cousin Julius Robinson.

Mr. Jenkins transitioned from this life to glory on Sunday, January 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed barbecuing and watching television, especially his soap operas.
He was an avid Alabama "Roll Tide" fan. 

He leaves many memories to be cherished by his wife, Lizzie Jenkins; his son, Bobby Ray (Rachel) Jenkins, son-in-law, Barry Lawrence, Sr.; grandchildren, Mercedes Jenkins, Bobby Jenkins Jr., Robert Jenkins, Barry ( Chardanya) Lawrence, Jr., and Lanicia (Amber) Lawrence; great grandchildren, De'Marian Jenkins, Emily Jenkins, Addisyn Jenkins, Isabella Jenkins, Marquell Lawrence, Kylie Girdy-Terell, Ilias Lawrence, and Jhelani Ali Lawrence; his sisters, Mary “Pam” (Jimmy) Thomas, Sr., and Shirley “Lucy” Jenkins; brothers, Elester “Keith” (Nell) Jenkins, Dennis (Sylvia) Jenkins, Sr., and Lorenzo “Lo” (Pauline) Jenkins; nieces and nephews; special friends, Sandress Robinson, Billy Boy (Sherby) Paris, J.C. (Barbara) Gross, and Betty Williams, and a host of other relatives and friends.
