It is with deep sympathy we announce the passing of Ms. Ruby McCain of Gadsden, AL, who transitioned on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at the age of 94. We ask that you keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during the difficult time. Services will be announced at a later date.
Ruby, daughter of the late Mr. Melvin Fife and the late Mrs. Exie Fife Clifton, and stepdaughter of the late Mr. Chesley Clifton, was born on October 11, 1927, in Cedar Bluff, AL.
At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Bodan Chapel Methodist Church, in Cedar Bluff.
Upon finishing her education in Cedar Bluff, she moved to Gadsden, AL where she married Walter Lee McCain Sr., became a member of Sweet Home United Methodist Church, where she attended regularly and offered her services when asked.
She was employed for several years by Western Clock Manufacturing Company (Westclox) in Gadsden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee McCain Sr.; daughter, Patricia Ann McCain; son, Walter Lee McCain Jr.; daughter, Cynthia Marie McCain; brother Raymond Clifton, and sister, Mrs. Alver Lee Tripp.
She leaves to cherish her memories a granddaughter, LaDundriette A. McCain, Gadsden, AL; grandsons, Terrence L. (Kaylar) McCain, Rainbow City, AL, Shuntear L. (Annie) McCain Ashville, AL; a special grandson, Charles (Sabrina) Manning, Gadsden, AL; great-grandchildren, Ziya McCain, Rainbow City, AL, Ja´Quese James, Huntsville, AL, JeWalt Horn, Gadsden, AL, I´Ja McCain, Columbia, SC, Shuntear McCain Jr., Cynthia McCain II, Ashville, AL, and Khloeﹶ Sandridge, Gadsden, AL; great-great-grandson, Zayn James; siblings, Mrs. Vera McClain, Gadsden, AL, Mrs. Christine Baker, Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Haynie Brooks, San Antonio, TX, and Mr. Donald Clifton, Gadsden, AL, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
