Steven Lorenzo Sims

It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Steven Lorenzo Sims of Gadsden, AL, who transitioned on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the age of 63.  We ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this time.

Mr. Steven Lorenzo Sims was born on September 23, 1961 in Wetumpka, AL to Mrs. Ruth Dunn and the late Eddie Sims Jr.

He was affectionately known in his community and family as “Uncle Steve”. He departed this life on January 22, 2025 at McGuffey’s Health and Rehab.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Roderick W. Sims, Marvin W. Sims, and Michael R. Dunn. 

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving mother, Mrs. Ruth Dunn; one sister, Felicia (Isaac) Flowers; two nephews, Isaiah (Dasia) Dunn and DeAndre Mathis both of Gadsden, AL; four nieces, Hannah Adams and SinChina Green both of Gadsden, AL, Sha Kera Latimore Bradenton, FL, and Sallia Johnson Anniston, AL; three uncles, Willie Knight, Wetumpka, AL, Williams Sims, Millbrook, AL, and Robert (Sarah) Sims, Lansing, Michigan, and a host of cousins, friends, and special friends.
