With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Tawana Antionette Davis of Madison, formerly of Gadsden, who traded time for eternity on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at the age of 58.
Tawana Davis was born on June 1, 1966, to the parents of Mattie Davis and Merion William Stewart in Sheffield, AL.
Tawana dedicated her life to her family, always there with a listening ear and a warm embrace. She found joy in making other people laugh and enjoy life. Tawana was a joyful spirit that could light up any room.
Tawana was preceded in death by her son, Reginald Davis; her husband, Gregory Thornton; her mother, Mattie Davis; her father, Merion William Stewart; her aunt, JoAnn Davis; and brother Oscar Young.
Tawana Davis, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025 at the age of 58.
She is survived by children, Salandria Davis and Darnesha Thornton; her grandchildren, Gabriel Stocks and Giana Stocks; her brothers, William (Connie) Page, Rodney (Marketta) Curry, Jesse Curry, and Tracy Ball; her mother-in-law, Sherlene Bethley; her brother/cousin, Curtis Stewart; her sisters, Tara Holston and Cynthia Williams; her niece, Regina Groves; her nephews, Tj Page, Michael Page, and Marcus Page; her god daughter, Keiona Williams and a host of loving family members and close friends.
