With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Thomas Patré Benford of Gadsden, who traded time for eternity on Monday, June 30, 2026 at the age of 29.
Thomas Patre' Bendford was born on November 10, 1996 to Shannon St. George and Thomas Benford II in Gadsden, Alabama.
Baby Thomas accepted Christ at a young age and built a strong foundation of faith. He attended New Destiny Christian Church and earned his GED through ISTC.
Baby Thomas was known for his infectious smile that could light up any room. No matter what he was facing, he always found a way to make others smile. He loved dancing, football, basketball, rap music, and spending time with the people he loved most. His favorite color was blue, and one of his favorite meals was macaroni and cheese with pork chops. Anyone who knew Baby Thomas knew his heart for family. He often reminded those around him, “family first over everything.” He was also known for saying “stay dangerous” and greeting people with his signature, “wassup, my love.” His personality, humor, and love left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know him. Baby Thomas will forever be remembered for his loving heart, contagious smile, unwavering devotion to his family, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
Baby Thomas was preceded in death by his stepfather, Joe St. George; his sister, Monica Garrett; his aunt, Denise Barnett; and his grandfather, Alfonzo Kimble ,Sr.
On Monday, June 29, 2026 our beloved Baby Thomas traded his time on Earth for Eternity. Baby Thomas was a blessing to all who knew and loved him. Though his time on earth was far too short, his love, laughter, and unforgettable spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved spouse, Meghan Moon; his cherished daughters, Toriana Benford and Ty’Shiana Benford, who were the greatest blessings of his life; his grandmother, Patricia Dixon; his siblings, Jakeaya Dixon, Shanya Dixon, Octavious Dixon, Treyez Barnett, Jatory Barnett, and Seyvon Benford; his aunts, Felicia Dixon, Brandi Dixon, Rosaline Williams, Gussie Dixon, and Shaunda Benford; his uncles, Jeffery Dixon, Terrance Dixon, Sr., Alfonzo Kimble, Jr., Nathaniel Kimble, Sr., and Wayne Benford; his cousins, Akeim Williams, Akeila Williams, Tanaja Dixon, Shay Kimble, and Nathaniel Kimble, Jr.; his beloved nieces and nephews, J’Nyla Malone, Octavious Dixon, Jr., Karter Smith, and Octaviunna Dixon; along with a host of extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by his love.
