With heartfelt sympathy we announce the earthly transition of Mr. Thomas Smith of Gadsden, who traded time for eternity on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the age of 69.
Mr. Thomas Smith was born February 21, 1953, in Gadsden, AL, to the union of Lee Willie Smith Sr. and Alice Lillian Smith. He gave his life to the Lord at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church.
After graduating from Gadsden High School, he went on to attend trade school at Gadsden State Community College. Here, he majored in automotive mechanics and upholstery. With these skills, he began teaching automotive mechanics at his Alma mater. In 1989, he began working at Tyson/Koch Foods, where he later retired.
On December 31, 1993, Thomas married the love of his life, Jacqueline Annette Davis. This union blessed them with three daughters, Sabrina Davis, Kiswana (Brian) Smith, and Tykisha Smith (Lajarius Russell).
On March 1, 2022, Thomas completed his earthly journey and went on to join his loved ones that preceded him in death: Lee Willie Smith Sr. (father), Alice Lillian Smith (mother), Lee Willie Smith Jr. (brother), Marion Smith (brother), Ethel Mae Davis (mother-in-law), Golden Davis (father-in-law); Robert Davis (brother-in-law); sister-in-laws, Carolyn Geddis, Patricia Bostick, Gloria Davidson, and Mary Clay.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Jacqueline Annette Smith; his daughters, Hope Sabrina Davis, Kiswana (Brian) Smith, and Tykisha Smith (Lajarius Russell); his grandsons, La'Darius Denez Russell, La'Jonte Shaquese Russell, Jacquese Cashus Russell, and Bryson Amir Smith; granddaughters, Jayla Camillia Russell and Maleya Amellia Russell; his brother-in-laws, Melvin (Doris) Davis, Bobby Davis, Danny Davis, and Bruce (LaConda) Davis; sister-in-laws, Roberta Davis, Katrina Davis, Rita Davis, Debra (Heber) Allen, Denise Johnson and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.
