Tommie Louis Borden, Sr. was born January 6, 1948, to the late Booker T. and Ruby Wycoff Borden in Sylacauga, Alabama

Louis confessed Christ at an early age and joined Antioch, later renamed Ridgeville Baptist Church, Ridgeville, Alabama, under the leadership of Pastor Lavon Moore.

He was educated in the public schools of Attalla graduating from Norris High School in 1966.

Shortly after graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and completed a tour of duty in Germany. After being honorably discharged, Louis retired to Etowah County and worked several jobs before being called for employment with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Louis retired from Goodyear after 30 years of dedicated service.

Louis met and married the love of his life Annette Kimble in 1973.

Louis was well known for his love of playing cards. Whether Spades or Bid Wiz, he was always ready for “Next Up”.

Louis and Annette’s doors were always open, whether family members or friends of their children, all were welcomed in the Borden household.

Louis peacefully transitioned on Friday, March 3rd, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama surrounded by family.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted wife, Annette, children, Kenneth (Kimberly) Rawls, Atlanta, Georgia, Kristi (Andre’) Bothwell, Leesburg, Georgia, Tommie Borden (Zolanda Williams), Ashley Walker, all of Gadsden, Alabama. Grandchildren, Ashley Bufford, Devin Kimble, Latangy Borden, Zyhiah Dixon, Gadsden, Alabama. TaKeidra Borden, Saks, Alabama, Brandon Bothwell, Birmingham, Alabama, Brian Bothwell, Chistian Brock Bothwell, Leesburg, Georgia. Jeremiah, Allisia & Kenneth Rawls, Jr., Atlanta, Georgia. Great-grandchildren, Kayli Bufford, Gavin Harvey, LaNyia & Cordae Gilley, Da’Moni Cothern, Jacobi Frazier, Gadsden, Alabama. Sisters, Viola Borden, Justine Williams, and Diane (Gerald) Presley, Gadsden, Alabama. Brother, Wille Charles (Denise) Borden, Gadsden, Alabama. Special Daughter, Barbara Finley. Chosen Sons, Bernard Thomas & Rozelle Bradford. Brothers-in-law, Harold (Grace) Kimble, Alan Young, Danny (Patricia) Kimble, Gadsden, Alabama, Sister-in-law, Clara Williams, Florissant, Missouri. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends. Special companion & friend, Lady Spice Marmalade Borden.
