It is with deep sympathy we announce the passing of Mr. Tommie Ellis Pearson of Gadsden, AL, who transitioned on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the age of 75. We ask that you please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Not in cruelty or in wrath did an angel come on Wedensday, October 13, 2021 to take Mr. Tommie Ellis Pearson home.
Mr. Tommie Ellis Pearson was born second of twelve children to the late Mr. & Mrs. Isaac and Nobie Pearson in Etowah County, Alabama on June 24, 1946.
He accepted Christ at an early age at Sweet Home United Methodist Church. After graduating from Carver High in 1965, he served our country for several years with the U.S. Air Force. After his honorable discharge from the military, Mr. Pearson dedicated 26 years of service to his job at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company of Gadsden.
His favorite pastimes were fishing, watching tv and movies, and spending time with his family.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Mr. Isaac Pearson, mother, Mrs. Nobie Pearson; son, Tracy Pearson; brothers, John Henry Doss, Isaac, Jr., Virgil; sisters, Blanche Pearson and Annette Timmons.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his dedicated and loving wife, Matilda Brown Pearson; children, Stacy Pearson, Gulfport, MS, Tomasina (Royce) Smitherman, Ebony Pearson; special daughter, Pearson Smitherman of Gadsden; six siblings, Virginia Warren, Onetha Faye Shellborne, Deborah (Michael) Cannon, Teddy (Zerrin) Pearson all of Gadsden, Angela (Sylvester) White, Dallas, TX, and Aaron Pearson, Pennsylvania; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Maye and Sheena Brown; brother-in-law, Curtis Brown, Jr.; 14 grandchildren, Channing, Tracee, Mieshia, Traymond, Carrie, Jhance, Tracy, Brea, Dominque, Shyane, Stacee, Stacy, Keirah, Omarion; and 9 ½ great grandchildren; special friends, Faye Lindsey, Sherry DeRamus, Charlie James, Rev. Willie J. Sayles, Tommy Hood, Bilbo Hester, and Carl Simmons; and a host of other relatives and friends.
