You were our sunshine, our only sunshine…
It is with a sad and heavy heart that we announce the passing of our sweet little Nugget, Trea Jawad Coleman Jr. age 3 of Gadsden, AL. TJ was sent to us as a special gift from Heaven on March 16, 2020 and was called home on October 23, 2023.
TJ was our little warrior, a fighter and our very own little superhero. He was born with a very rare genetic disorder, Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease. He fought every single day of his little life. He had a smile that would melt your heart. TJ loved Bluey and would love when you would sing to him.
TJ is survived by his parents, Trea Jawad Coleman Sr. and Ciera Nicole Wheeler. His super siblings and sidekicks, Jalyn Couch, Korbyn Couch, Havyn Coleman and Aerilyn Coleman who loved their baby Bubba, and sweet little Man Man. TJ is also survived by Great Gramma Gwendolyn Hill, grandparents Gary Sergeant, Sherry Brock, Chandra Bates, Eric Martin, Cynthia Coleman Williams and Jimmy Williams. Also given grands, Gigi April Baker, Paul “Pop Pop” Smith, Aunt TT Samirra Avery and Christy Dozier, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Homecoming services for TJ will be held Saturday, November 4 beginning at 1 p.m. at Living Word Ministries in North Gadsden. Service will be led by TJ’s Great Uncle, Charles Manning. Burial will take place following at Lincoln Hill Cemetery in East Gadsden. Adams and Buggs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
The family would like to recognize the following people who provided loved and care not only to TJ but also the family. Dr. Kassel and the Aero team, Dr. Wozo and the Rehab team, Dr. Ananth and the Neuro team, Dr. Buckingham and Palliative care team, Pediatric ICU team and all doctors, nurses, and staff involved in TJ’s care at Children’s Hospital of Birmingham. This was TJ’s world and we were all just in it.
TJ will remain Forever In Our Hearts, always missed and never forgotten. Soar high little Nugget, Peanut, Man Man.
