It is with heartfelt sympathy, we announce the passing of Mrs. Vennie Sue Foster, of Gadsden, AL., who transitioned on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the age of 87. We ask that you please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Services to be announced.
Vennie Sue was born November 9, 1934, to the late Jewell Douglas and Nettie Mae Croft. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and she was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church Turkey Town in Gadsden, Alabama, where she loved her pastor and church family.
Vennie attended Carver High School. She loved working at Gadsden Nursing Home. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, traveling, reading her bible, being active at her church, and spending time with her family and friends.
On January 20, 2022, she was called home to be with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Foster; her son, Ralph Douglas Sr.; her parents, Jewell Douglas and Nettie Mae Croft; her brothers Franklin Douglas and Roy Douglas; her sisters-in-law, Alneta Douglas and Rita Douglas.
She leaves to cherish her memories her grandchildren, Stefanie Moore, Tamika (Michael) Tart, Ralph (Marsha) Douglas Jr., Byron (Ellisa) Douglas, Albert Douglas, Susan Douglas, and Jordan (Alexia) Douglas; 24 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; siblings; John L. (Mildred) Douglas, Mildred (Willie) Land; sisters-in-law, Hester Douglas, Emma Douglas, Dorothy Foster, Nallie Wyatt, and Jannette Jelks; her extended children, Melody (Larry) Williams, Anthony (Mary) Foster Sr., and Pamela Vickers; and a host of special nephews and nieces; family and special friends.
