Walter James Thomas

It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Mr. Walter Thomas of Clay County, AL, who transitioned on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the age of 79. We ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. 

Mr. Walter James Thomas was born on August 11, 1943, in Tallapoosa County, AL to the parents of Collins Thomas and Mattie Louise Stoves. 
Walter married Louise Carter in September 1954. 
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, daughters, Patricia Thomas, Terri Ann Thomas; siblings, Leroy Thomas, Cozell Thomas, Laura Mae Fleming, Lurlene Lodar, J. B. Thomas, Darryl Thomas. 
Those left to cherish his precious memories are his wife, Louise Carter; daughter, Cindy (Victor) Simmons; son, Eric (Angela) Thomas; special children, Sylvia Collins, Alex City, Walter Tatum, Lineville, Cecil Caldwell, Lineville; grandchildren, Eric Nathan Thomas, Ashland, Jonathan Thomas, Kendall Zackery, Montgomery, Lakeisha Ford, Elijah Border, Jasmine (Silas) Pearson; five grandkids; sisters and brothers, Julia McLain, Lineville, Pauline Carter, Annie Ruth (James) Garrett, all of Lineville, Clarence (Melissa) Thomas, Alex City; sisters and brother-in-law, Lucille Gibbons, Bonnie (Jimmy Pat) Barker, Lineville, Brenda (Isaac) Garrett, Childersburg, Brenda (Earl) Esters, Detroit, MI, and a host of nieces and nephews.
