It is with deep sympathy, we announce the passing of Mr. William Edward Williams of Gadsden, Alabama, who traded time for eternity on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the age of 79. We ask that you please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
William Edward Williams known by loved ones and friends as "Babro" and "PawPaw" was born on July 6, 1944, to the late Albert Williams Sr. and Mrs.Essie Mae Williams in Gadsden, AL.
William accepted Christ early in his life and attended First Baptist Church in Alabama City under the pastorate of the late E.L. Gary. Later in life he continued to serve the Lord at Eastside Baptist Church in Altoona, AL under the pastorate of Joseph L. Nix.
William graduated from Norris High School in 1963, after graduating he went on to join the US Armed Forces which his was honorably discharged.
For many years he was employed by Siemens Allis (Allis Chambers) until the company’s closing. He also worked for the Anniston Army Depot for 25 years. After his retirement he enjoyed gardening, working on his 76 Monte Carlo, watching football and drinking coffee with his daughter every Saturday morning.
William was called to his Heavenly home on October 25, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Albert Williams, Jr., and Richard Williams.
He leaves behind precious memories with his daughter, Stacey Gary, Gadsden, AL; son Tracy (Anjelica)Gary, Abilene, Tx; lifelong companion, Faye Gary; granddaughter, Brandi Williams, Gadsden, AL; brothers, Leonard and Earnest (Patricia) Williams, all of Gadsden; a very special cousin, Roberta Harvell; neighbor and friend, Patrick Threatt, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
