With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the passing of Yolanda Jackson of Gadsden, AL, who transitioned on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the age of 73. Please keep her family and friends in your thoughts during this time.
Mrs. Yolanda Ruth Carter Jackson was born on September 10, 1950, in Gadsden, AL, to the union of the late Leonard and Ruth Carter.
She received her education in the Gadsden City School System. She was employed at Midsouth Electronics for 31 years and retired from Ability Plus in 2019.
She was known for her contagious smile and delicious meals.
She is preceded in death by her husband, of 36 years, Mr. George H. Jackson, Sr.; two sisters, Elizabeth Donnell, and Linda McBride; four brothers, Leonard P. Carter, Steve Carter, Rickey C. Carter, Sr., Michael C. Carter, Sr.; two grandsons, Fred T. Carter, Jr., and Quinton C. Baker.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Tonya (Terry) Agee, Anson (Aleatha)Carter, Fred (Delicia) Carter. Sr., all of Gadsden, AL; her grandchildren, Michael Gibson, Ursula Miller, Anson Baker, Chantara Williams, Laparish Carter, Daruis Turner, Christina Cothern, Jasmine Carter, Rashad (Kassydi) Carter, Trevonte Carter, and Zyan Gibson; her special grandchildren, Karshya Smith, Zakerah Gibson, Jakayla Cothern, and Ciera King; special nieces, Sheila Hill, Gadsden, AL, Robin (Rodney) Wise, Thleatha Price, New Castle, PA and Regina Carter, Memphis, TN; special nephews Lajuan Hill of Gadsden Al.; and Rickey C. Carter Jr. of Memphis, Tn.; sisters-in-law, Sheldia Carter, Eva Crawford, Gadsden, AL, Geraldine Carter, Memphis, TN; cousins, Judy Kay Lockett, New Castle, PA, Arlora Kimbrough, Gadsden, AL, Patrick Johnson, Anniston, AL; special family friends, Barbara Jones, Brian Ray, Teresa Cannon, Gwen Nelms, Danita Smith and Phyllis Graham, and a host of great-grandchildren.
