Walter was born November 1, 1942 in Cherokee County, Alabama to the union of the late L.D. and Willie Mae Hendricks Dupree.

At a young age he confessed faith in Christ and united with Providence Baptist Church, Leesburg, Alabama. His formal education was received at Hatcher High School in Centre, Alabama.

When he was younger, he played a variety of different sports. He enjoyed singing, being on the usher board, joking around and the Auburn Football team. He had several different nicknames, one of which was “Bochamp”. However, he will forever be remembered for his funny stories and jokes.

Walter crossed the Jordan River on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Cherokee County Health and Rehab Center.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Raynard Dupree, Sonya (Roderick) Stallings, Cherrie (Clint) Cross, Neal (Rosie) Miller, Lorraine Walker, Courtney Dupree, Walter Dupree, Jr., and Vincent (Jana) Dupree; 23 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren (on the way); siblings, Jackie (Billie) Dupree, Opal Hood and Emily Rooks; sister-in-law, Taylor Dupree; special friends, Terry Dupree, Bo Hood, Wayne Landrum ,Billy Woods and many others.
