~The Life and Legacy of Ms. Iola Babara Ann Francois~

Iola Barbara Ann was born in the fall of 1950. On November 23rd her parents, Hosey and Rachel Willis Avery, welcomed their daughter into this world.

Iola was born in Gulfport, Harrison County, Mississippi where she spent her childhood years with her other brothers, sisters and parents.

Iola accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and her love, kindness and legacy will live on for generations.

Later in life after high school, Iola chose to further her education and centered her goals by obtaining her degree in Nursing, finishing her educational career with a Master’s degree in Nursing.  With this degree under her belt, Iola was able to take care of her family and allowed her to always provide her God-given talent to look after others throughout her professional career and personal life.

Iola was very down to earth and loved to cook, read God’s Holy Word and was always singing His praises through her love of gospel music. Iola spent her latter years pouring all of her love into her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

After an extended illness, Iola answered God’s call on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, joining her sons,  DeAntyne Avery, Ben McInnis, Jr.; brothers, W. T. Avery, Robert James Avery, her parents, Rachel and Hosey Avery and her grandparents.

Iola leaves those to cherish her memories, her children, Hosey Avery, Corneal McInnis, Alicia Fairley, Tonayah McInnis; grandchilden, Rachel Johnson, Trevor Johnson, CeQuai McInnis, Kialle Ray, Jr. Nyle Avery, Sarah Avery, Maurice McInnis, Shermaine McInnis, Marcell McInnis, Deontae McInnis, Andrew McInnis, Breanna McInnis, JaQuon Fairley, Rashad Fairley, Treasure Fairley; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Lorraine Price, Bertha Hinton, Carlin Avery and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Grief can be so hard, but our cherished memories help us cope. Hold tight to those memories…. Lean on each other for support…. And look to God’s word the Bible, for comfort and strength. James 4:8 encourages; “Draw close to God, and He will draw close to you.”
