Devolia Lee Coker was born August 7, 1954 in Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama to the union of Benjamin and Willie Mae Dossey Coker. Her formal education was received in the City of her birth.

She was known by all as a diligent and hard worker. She single handedly cared for and raised her children. Early in life she began her career in the work force as a house keeper at the Reich Hotel. From there she move to McGuffey Health and Rehab until her health began to fade. She loved music, dancing, her family and basically enjoyed life. According to her grandchildren her neck bones, fried chicken and dressing were beyond compare.

On Tuesday, January 28, 2020, her busy life came to an end. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Cornelia Cameron, Gadsden, AL, Cornelius (Shera) Coker, Elizabeth Town, KY, Brandy Coker (Antoya Bufford) Gadsden, AL, Willie Mae Coker, Etoven, KY; six grandchildren: Erraina Cameron, Etienna Cameron, Gadsden, AL, Cornelius Tashawn Coker, Unique Coker, Elizabeth Town, KY, Jamaya Coker, Janariya Coker, Etoven, KY, a number of great-grandchildren nieces and nephews. Last, but not least, her special companion, “Grizzly”, the Pomeranian and a nubmer of other relatives and friends


Graveside Service will be 1:00p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Lincoln Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-7:00p.m. Monday at the Etowah Chapel of Adams-Buggs Funeral Service.
